I DON'T often write letters to newspapers, but felt compelled to tell you of Scarborough's praises being sung from afar.
I’ve recently had a visit from my brother who lives in Hong Kong and one Tuesday he accompanied me to the Scarborough Blues Club gig at the cask.

I have been attending these for the last three weeks, having seen a virtuoso blues band from Pasadena, a unique Canadian guitarist and the week my brother went, our own local hero, Steve Phillips from Robin Hood’s Bay.

To quote my brother: “To see international artists in a small, friendly club at realistic prices is a gem to be cherished and polished. We’ve nothing like this in Hong Kong or London come to that.”

Bet he wishes he was staying!
