MY children and I have been reading the Evening News on the subject of the Sunken Gardens (November 13) and we were a little upset about the place potentially being built upon.
We also read that the gardens have become a little neglected.

This prompted us to come to a unanimous decision that we would love to volunteer into helping spruce the place up.

We all love gardening and are have some basic knowledge of plants and such.

If there are other volunteers offering such services and there becomes a "forum" of such service than we would gladly participate.

We recently moved to Scarborough from a village outside Leeds because we have always loved the town.

It holds many fond memories for my childhood and I would love to preserve it as is as much as possible.

Too much modernisation can be a bad thing and can suffocate the original aura of a place.

It is up to us, the people of the town, to preserve all we can.
