RE You've killed my business (Evening News, November 14).
My wife and I have great sympathy with Mrs Addis.

Every day we start our morning walk with our dog near the putting green off the Esplanade near the clock tower.

Many times this year we have looked towards the Holbeck car park and have noticed the very low number of cars parked there.

I have often expressed my concern for Mrs Addis' business which must have been very adversely affected.

For many years visitors to Scarborough have parked on the Holbeck car park to enjoy the views and walks from the site.

Now, with such parking charges imposed, they feel compelled to park elsewhere.

Mrs Addis provided welcome refreshments for visitors and locals alike who parked on the car park.

I feel extremely sorry for Mrs Addis whose business after leasing the site from Scarborough Council must have been very adversely affected this year.

I wonder if Mrs Addis was informed of the forthcoming introduction of parking fees when she signed her five-year lease from Scarborough Corporation.
