Fisherman in court on
animal cruelty charges

A fisherman has appeared before Scarborough magistrates facing charges of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
The case against David Wilkins, 50, of Muston Road, Filey, was adjourned for six weeks at the prosecution’s request.
Shaun Greenan, mitigating, said there were complications with conditions of the charges under the Animal Welfare Act.
The case was adjourned until January 8.
