FORMER television presenter Selina Scott pulled in the crowds as she threw the switch on the spectacular Christmas illuminations in Malton.
Scarborough-born Ms Scott, who has a home in Ryedale, switched on the lights yesterday and then marked the town's links with author Charles Dickens by opening a tribute display.

Pickering's festive lights are due to be switched on by Santa at 4.45pm today and Norton's at 6pm.

The ceremony in Thornton-le-Dale is next Saturday at 6pm but the festivities begin at 4pm.
