SCARBOROUGH Film Soc-iety's special 55th anniversary season of international films continues with two screenings in December.
Mexican film El Violin will be shown at Cober Hill, Cloughton, at 8pm on Friday.

The film, directed by Francisco Vargas, is set during a period of guerrilla war.

While a village is brutally destroyed by government forces, an elderly musician uses his violin as a means to smuggle ammunition to help the opposition.

On December 19, La Vie en Rose, a filmography of the legendary Edith Piaf, will be screened at 7.45pm in the Concert Room at Scarborough Library, Vernon Road.

Single show tickets cost £4 for members’ guests, or are free for full members. For details on how to join the group call (01723) 361661.
