STAFF and customers at Scarborough's Sainbury's store are certainly feline groovy!
The store has its own supermarket moggy but customers have been warned that the cat can get a bit ratty and bosses have posted a sign in the shop’s window reading: “Pebbles the cat, pictured right, can be a little grumpy in her old age please be careful when letting children pet her.”

The pampered puss is a familiar face to Scarboro-ugh’s shoppers – in the past she has regularly curled up on bags of solid fuel in the shop’s lobby but now stays in the store’s car park where feline fans frequently feed her.

The store’s manager Rob Brook: has asked shoppers: “Due to health and safety please ensure she is fed outside the store.”
